Conveyor tray
In chapter 3, World Tour, the tray becomes a conveyor. It first appears in level 41, Seafood Paella, and runs through all twenty levels of the chapter.
The rules
- The tray counts your taps. Every 3 or 4 taps, depending on the level, the front row moves one column to the right.
- The box on the far right wraps around to the leftmost column. Only the front boxes move; the rows behind them stay in their columns.
- Locked boxes and chained pairs are bolted down and do not move. The other front boxes rotate around them.
- The counter above the tray shows how many taps are left before the next turn.
What the conveyor does to a level
Without a conveyor, every box stays in the column it was dealt. With one, the front row is reshuffled on a fixed beat, so the box that comes forward next in a column is not always the one you expected. A color you are waiting for can slide in front of a column you were about to clear, and an awkward box can be carried out of the way. The turns are always the same for the same moves, so the level stays a puzzle, not luck.
Tips
- Watch the counter. When the next turn is one tap away, ask what the front row will look like after it.
- If a color you need is about to move on, take it now; if a color you don't want yet is in the way, a turn may carry it aside.
- Locks and chained pairs act as anchors: use them to predict which boxes will move and where.
- A box taken with the Grab counts as a tap; the Extra Slot, the Machine Gun and the UFO do not.
